Why Go Tour Albania

The difference a local makes

Our guides grew up in these villages. They'll show you the good swimming spots and tell you where to eat well nearby.

Every guide was born here. They'll take you to the swimming spots and bakeries they actually use, and tell you the history as they know it.

  2. Routes we drive ourselves

We plan around real Albanian roads, ferry timetables and the afternoon heat, so the day doesn't feel rushed.

  3. Easy English, fast answers

Message us anytime on WhatsApp. We reply in English within hours, and we'll point you to a cheaper option when there is one.

  4. Comfortable small groups

Booked the Bovilla Lake Private Tour with them and it was a great experience. Had the chance to chat and learn much more about Albania and other nearby attractions, and got plenty of suggestions too. I went for the morning tour and really liked it — a great place, and the way they took care of us during the whole trip was superb. 100% recommended; I'd also add the Kruje tour.

We chose Go Tour Albania for our trip to Bovilla Lake and were very satisfied. The big advantage was the early departure, thanks to which it wasn't too hot yet. Ermal happily picked us up right in front of our accommodation. When we arrived at the lake there was no one there except us, so we could enjoy the beautiful view in peace. Along the way he told us interesting facts about the lake and took many beautiful photos for us — he's a really great photographer. We definitely recommend a trip with Go Tour Albania to anyone who wants to experience Bovilla Lake without the crowds.

We took the Bovilla Lake tour with Ermal and had a really great time! It was me and a friend, and Ermal picked us up right outside our hotel and took us on the tour. He's a truly friendly and kind person — I highly recommend getting in touch with him!

Everything was great. Hotel pickup in Tirana, a guided visit to Krujë, and back to the hotel in Tirana. All very comfortable and well organized. Good value for money — we felt completely at ease from the very first moment. Thank you so much!

Had a great time on this quad tour. Everything was well organized and you feel safe, not to mention the great view of Lake Bovilla. In short, highly recommended.

My friend and I visited Lake Bovilla with Ermal, a kind and very knowledgeable guide. He told us about the history of the lake and of Albania. A fantastic experience: I highly recommend getting in touch with him.

We just finished our evening in Kruja. A beautiful city well worth visiting, especially if it's told to you the way it was for us. Ermal is a great guy: punctual, precise, and charismatic. If you choose a tour with him, you'll definitely come away thrilled.

Booked a tour of Bovilla Lake and Gamti Mountain to enjoy the sunrise there. Perfect communication, sharp pick-up in Tirana. We arrived and had the entire viewpoint to ourselves! Such an amazing experience. Truly recommend! Thanks so much, Ermal.

Thanks to Go Tour Albania, we had our second unforgettable journey exploring the breathtaking Sazan Island, the Karaburun Peninsula, and the magnificent Haxhi Ali Cave in the crystal-clear waters of Albania. The speedboat ride, the stunning scenery, the beautiful islands, and the crystal-clear sea made this trip truly unforgettable. Thank you to the entire Go Tour Albania team for making our tour such a wonderful and memorable experience.

Let's start with the fact that Ermal is incredibly helpful. Until this morning the Bovilla Lake trip was just an idea; then, after a bit of research, we tried Go Tour. Now, thanks to them, we already have another couple of trips planned. I'd say fully satisfied.

Good To Know

Questions every traveler asks us

Straight answers to the questions we get most. If yours isn't here, message us on WhatsApp.

Still wondering something?

We answer every message personally, usually within a couple of hours, seven days a week.

Ask Us Anything
Is Albania safe for tourists?

Yes. We host solo travellers and families every week. Violent crime against tourists is very rare, locals go out of their way to help visitors, and hospitality is taken seriously here. Use the same common sense you would anywhere: watch your phone in busy areas and agree taxi prices up front. Our guides are with you throughout every tour either way.

Do your tours include hotel pickup?

Most day trips include free pickup and drop-off at hotels in the departure city; it's listed in the 'What's included' section of every tour. For boat tours departing from marinas, pickup is available as a small add-on. Just send us your hotel name when booking and we'll confirm your pickup time the evening before.

Can I book a private tour?

Absolutely. Every tour on this site can run as a private trip for your group: couples, families or friend groups up to 16. Private tours can be customised: different start times, extra stops, slower pacing, you name it. Send us an inquiry with your dates and wishes and we'll build a quote within 24 hours.

Are your tours suitable for families with children?

Most of them, very much so. Boat tours carry children's life jackets, day trips have flexible pacing, and our guides are experienced (and patient) with kids. The Theth–Valbona trek is the exception: we recommend it for ages 12+ with hiking experience. Each tour page notes anything family-specific, and you can always ask us directly.

What should I pack for a day trip?

For boat tours: swimwear worn under clothes, a towel, sunscreen, a hat and water shoes if you have them. For city and nature trips: comfortable walking shoes (cobblestones and trails are no place for flip-flops), a refillable water bottle and a light layer; mountain stops can be breezy even in summer. We send a short packing note with every booking confirmation.

What is the best season to visit Albania?

May, June and September are the sweet spots: warm sea, open trails and fewer crowds. July and August are hottest and busiest: wonderful for beach time, but book tours early. The Alps trekking season runs mid-May to mid-October. Cultural trips like Berat and Gjirokastër are great year-round, and lovely in the quiet of winter.
